Nature of request
Rukke requests that Browne and Hayward be summoned by letters of the privy seal charging them to appear before the king and council to answer for the injury and wrong done to him, and that he be restored to his tenement in Theydon Mount. He recovered the tenement by law but Browne with the support of Hayward has had him arrested and put in prison and have entered his tenement.1)
Nature of endorsement
Before the king in Chancery first day of March next, namely by a writ of corpus cum causa.2) And a writ of subpoena before the king and council at the octave of Trinity.

Note
The petition dates to c. 1327. In all likelihood the oyer and terminer commission issued on 4 March 1327 relates to this petition, but as the petition was answered that the petitioner should 'sue at the common law' the oyer and terminer does not seem to have been an immediate response to the petition (CPR 1327-30, p.80).
