Nature of request
1) Rokeby requests that he can have a letter to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to enquire into the matter of the wapentakes of Agbrigg, Morley, Skyrack and Barkston Ash which ought to render 20 marks each to the gross farm which the sheriff accounts for, but only contribute 2 marks for all four as the king has granted them to Queen Philippa, and if they find this to be true, then that he be allowed this sum in his account.2) Rokeby requests allowance for Strafforth wapentake that ought to contribute 40 marks to the gross farm which the sheriff accounted for, but the king and the king's father granted them to individuals for their lives, so that Rokeby only received £10.3) Rokeby requests allowance for the wapentake of Staincliff as he is unable to receive the farm because the wapentake contains and is appended to the lordship of Bowland.4) Rokeby requests remedy and an allowance on his account for the farms of the wapentakes of Osgodcross and Stayncross which are in the honour of Pontefract and in the Queen's hand.1)

It is ordered by writ to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to enquire of the matter, and if they find that the sheriffs in their accounts used to receive the money and the sheriff is unable to receive it now because of the grant to the queen, then they should make allowance in his account2) It is ordered to them to call Bosevill before them, and if they find that the sheriffs in their accounts used to receive a sum before the grant to Wastneys then they should make allowance in the sheriff's account.3) They are ordered to view the sheriffs' accounts and if they find that they used to receive the sum from the wapentake until the grant of the lordship of Bowland to the king's mother then the sheriff should have allowance in his account.4) They are ordered to view the sheriffs' accounts and if they find that they used to receive the sum from the wapentakes until the grant of the honour of Pontefract to the queen then the sheriff should have allowance in his account.

Rokeby was sheriff of Yorkshire 1335-1337 and 1342-1349. However, CCR 1337-9 p.362 would seem to date the petition to the first term.
