Nature of request
The Bishop of Rochester states that Robert de Walkfare, knight, held certain lands of him in Isleham in Cambridgeshire, and that an annual rent and suit of court are due from these lands to his manor of Freckenham in Suffolk, but that since the lands were taken into the King's hand because of Robert's rebellion, these services have been withdrawn. He requests a writ to have them in future, and also the arrears, so that he and his church are not disinherited.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to the annual rent: the keeper is to be ordered that if the Bishop and his predecessors were seised of it until the forfeiture etc., then he is to pay the same Bishop the rent in future and the arrears from the time etc.With regard to the suit: nothing at present.
