- John de Roos and Margaret his wife, daughter [?recte granddaughter - see C134/6/12] and heir of Peter de Goushull, state that after Peter's death the Earl of Lincoln seized certain tenements in Swinefleet, in name of wardship, during Margaret's minority. They passed into the hands of the Earl and Countess of Lancaster after the Earl's death, and are now in the King's hand, but Margaret has never been able to recover them. They ask that these tenements might be delivered to Margaret.

- Competent people are to be appointed in Chancery to inquire into the truth of the things contained in this petition, in the presence of the Keeper of the said manor; and when the inquisition has been returned in Chancery, justice is further to be done.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- This petition must date from after the death of the Earl of Lancaster, which it mentions, and that the lands were taken into the King's hand. It also says that since then 'droit a lui ne a plusours autres ne poait estre fait', but there is no mention of a new reign: so this petition would seem to date from no later than 1327.The writs for CIPM vol.V no.472 are dated 24 September, 7 Edward II (1313).
