Rogere, Lapin
Addressees

Nature of request
Lapin Rogere states that the king's father had granted him the office of Assayer of the Mint and Exchanger of the Exchange of Canterbury, for term of life, and the present king had confirmed this; and because Lapin owed the present king certain debts, the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer were ordered to account with him and to give him an allowance for these debts in the arrears of his fee, and to pay him the remainder. They do not wish to do this, as the office of Exchange at Canterbury is not held at present. He states that this is not his fault, and reiterates that £93 6s. 8d. is due to him in arrears of his fee, while £52 are demanded of him for the king; and asks that the Treasurer and Barons should be ordered again to account with him, and that, if they find it is so, that they should give him an allowance and payment as before.
