Nature of request
Writ from Edward I to William de Valence, asking him to make amends for the wrong done to Thomas de la Roche and Walter Renbaud, his bailiff, when John Wogan had them arrested for holding an inquisition on, and burying, a man killed within Thomas' manor of La Roche, as has been Thomas' right from time immemorial, and would not release them until they had found mainpernors; and also to release his men whom he is holding.
