Nature of request
The Abbot and convent of Reading complain that certain people have forged three bonds in their name: two attesting to debts to Jews, and one pretending to be for the deposit of £300 and various jewels of gold and silver. These are utterly false, and they request a remedy, in case these documents should be brought into the public domain, so that they might remain harmless. Further details can be given certain members of the Abbot's council, and they demand an explanation.
