precentor of the church of St Peter of York (York Minster)

People mentioned
Henry de Lascy (Lacy), Earl of Lincoln

Peter de Ros, former precentor of York Minster
Note
William de Alburwyk was precentor ('chauntour') of York Minster between 1321 and 1332, the office previously held by Peter de Ros, and thus presumably the petition dates from this period. However, Alburwyk was later chancellor (an office not held by Ros), and held the prebend of Bilton in York Minster between 1331 and 1341. References on the guard attempt to date this earlier, but are erroneous.Peter de Ros, precentor of York Minster and holder of Barmby Moor prebend, was dead by 22 May 1311.
