Nature of request
Henry Attebrigge, Thomas Bischop, Ralph Bischop and John Pourk state that they are workers in cloth of various kinds, and have from time immemorial been free to carry their work and merchandise to London and elsewhere in the land to sell it; but that a number of people of Norwich, whom they name, have lately with force and arms seized them, their horses, gear and merchandise, brought by them to market in Norwich, and are holding them, and will not release them until they make an oath that they will not sell their goods other than to them in Norwich: which would lead to their great impoverishment. They request a remedy.
