Nature of request
Richard de Ayremynne states that his predecessors, parsons of the church of Odiham, used to have common pasture for their livestock, until the time of Ralph Deverwik, Chancellor of the church of Our Lady of Salisbury, in the time of King Edward, grandfather of the present king, but that since that time, they have been prevented from enjoying this right by the Keeper of the castle and manor of Odiham and the tenants of the manor. He requests that suitable people be assigned to inquire, in the presence of the Keeper, if any of his predecessors were seised of this right; and which, and when they were prevented from enjoying it, and by whom, and for what reason: and, according to what is found by the inquisition, to order that justice be done to him.
Nature of endorsement
Certain people are to be appointed to inquire into the things contained in this petition, and, when the inquisition has been returned in Chancery, the King is to be advised.
