Nature of request
Richard de Potesgrave states that he, along with Robert Malet and others, had made a recognisance in Chancery to John de Burn, knight, for 300 marks, as security for a debt of 200 marks he owed him, and that, as security to Robert Malet, he had made another recognisance for 300 marks to him. Now, although he has fully paid his debt to John de Burn, as he can show, because John will not come to Chancery to withdraw the recognisance made to him, Robert has brought a writ of scire facias to levy the 300 marks due from the recognisance made to him. He requests a remedy.
