Description

Name(s)
Pole; Pole, Richard; William
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Richard and William de la Pole state that Edward II granted the custody of Kingston upon Hull to Robert de Hastang, and that the present king, when he had granted the custody to the Mayor, bailiffs and community of the town, ordered them by his letters patent to pay the farm to Robert for term of life. He then granted the custody of Kingston upon Hull to the petitioners, after Robert's death, and they have Robert's deed granting this: they ask him to write to the Mayor, bailiffs and community, ordering them to pay the farm to Richard and William, as they previously paid it to Robert.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio. This petition is to be sent to Chancery, and there, when the deed for the lease and grant, made by the said Robert to the said Richard and William as the petition claims, and the other deeds, have been examined, if it is found that he has granted his estate to the said Richard and William, then the Mayor and bailiffs of the said town are to be ordered to pay their farm to the said Richard and William in the same way as they were previously ordered to pay it to the said Robert for term of Robert's life.
Places mentioned

Note
