Nature of request
William, son and heir of Robert de Pinkenye, states that his father held the manor of Moreton Pinkney of the King in chief through the King's father's purchase of fees belonging to the Barony of Weedon Pinkney from Henry de Pinkenye. He requests the issues of the manor from the time when it was in the king's hand, as he was of age at the time of his father's death, the manor is not held of the crown, and it is provided by statute that in such cases the king has only the estate that the baron from whom he purchased the manor had.

The writ for the inquisition post mortem for Robert Pynkenye (CIPM, vol. VI, no. 258) is dated 30 August 1320. The petition would seem to date from between then and the end of Edward II's reign.
