John, son of Simon le Pestur of Doncaster, states that on the morrow of the Holy Cross a year ago, Hugh de Canewik of Doncaster and Roger le Rous of Hexthorpe, broke into his house by night, broke into his chests, and took him to hold to ransom. He requests the king's mercy.
