Nature of request
John de Puseye requests a writ to the Sheriff of Oxfordshire to inquire into the value of a toft in the suburb of Oxford, once held by Vive le Longe, a Jew who was hanged for felony, and whose buildings have been destroyed because of that felony; and that he might hold this for term of life, paying the correct value at the Exchequer.
Nature of endorsement
The Sheriff and Mayor of Oxford are to be ordered to inquire whether the aforesaid toft is in the King's hand, and how much it is worth annually, and if it is to the harm of the King or of anyone else if the King grants the same toft to him to hold for term of life; and if it is to the King's harm or anyone else's, then to what harm etc.
