- The Prior of Pill states that Thomas de la Roche has destroyed the goods of his house, and imprisoned his monks and his people, and ransomed them at his pleasure. He requests that he might have him come before the justices of the King's Bench to answer for this trespass.

- CFR 1272-1307 p.404 is dated 24 September 1298. As the endorsement mentions Walter de Petherton, the petition must date from after this time. He is mentioned as acting as a justice in CPR 1301-7 pp.91, 407 and 472-3, dating from 1302 and 1305.
