Merchants of the company of the Peruchi.

Nature of request
The merchants of the company of the Peruchi state that the king bound himself for his brother Edmund to the sum of £10,000, for the Bishops of Winchester and Lincoln, collectors of a tenth demanded by the pope, which money Edmund received, and that the Abbot of Waltham and Dean of St Paul's, the current collectors, are now demanding this money from them, on pain of excommunication and on other harsh terms. They ask that they might be quit of this obligation, and have letters to keep them unharmed, and that a letter might be sent to the Abbot and Dean to cease from their harsh treatment.
Nature of endorsement
Deprecatory letters are to be sent to the Abbot and Dean in the aforesaid form; and he is to have a writ of Chancery that they are to be kept unharmed.
