Nature of request
William, son of William de Patesleye states that Alan la Souche granted him the reversion of the lands and tenements held by Juliana, widow of Robert le Clerk of Halse, and that when Juliana died, within the last seven weeks, he entered those lands and tenements. However the Escheator in Northamptonshire has expelled him, and taken them into the king's hand. He requests a remedy.

Note
There were Escheators in separate counties only in the periods 1275-1283 and 1323-1327, and then not again until 1332. From the hand, this petition would seem to come from the period 1323-1327 - probably from quite early in that period, given the Latin endorsement.Alan la Zouche died in 1314 (see CFR 1307-19 p.191 - an order to the Escheator to take his lands into the king's hand, dated 25 March 1314.
