Alice Pirun (Perron), wife of John Pirun (Perron) of Northamptonshire.
Name(s)
Pirun (Perron), Alice
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Alice, wife of John Pirur of Northamptonshire, states that on St Laurence's day [10 August] in the King's seventh year [1279], Gilbert de Kirk attacked her husband on the king's highway between Brackley and Hinton-in-the-Hedges, wounding him so badly that he is maimed forever: and this was because the King had granted John a tribunal to establish whether Gilbert was withholding John's lands and tenements in Hinton-in-the-Hedges rightly or wrongly, on the basis of what John had shown him at Silverstone on the Friday before St Laurence. John asks that the letter granting this tribunal might be transferred to his wife, as he is now too badly injured to sue, and that justice might be done for his wounding.
Nature of endorsement
She is to sue in Chancery against J. [sic] de Kirk, knight.
Places mentioned
