Nature of request
Memorandum that one Alan Plukenet, a Breton, born outside the king's allegiance, came to England and married the sister of Robert Walrond, by whom he engendered a son, Alan Plukenet, who was given the manor of Beer in Somerset by Edward I, for him and his heirs forever. His children were the late Alan Plukenet, who died without heirs of his body, and Joan de Bohun, who died seised without heirs of her body. After her death, an inquisition procured by Richard de la Beere falsely found that he was the heir, as Alan's blood-line in England has failed, [and no other kinsman can inherit].
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned
Brittany, [France]
Beer, Somerset.
People mentioned
Alan Plukenet (Plokenet)
Robert Walrond
Edward [I], King of England
Alan Plukenet (Plokenet), son of Alan Plukenet

Note
This seems to be related to Oliver de Plokenet's petition for his inheritance (SC 8/66/3260A). The writ resulting from that petition (SC 8/66/3260B), is dated at Lincoln, 28 March, 2 Edward III (1328), and the memorandum to which all these documents is attached states that the parties appeared before Chancery on the Wednesday after Palm Sunday in the same year.
