Nature of request
Alary Perseay makes two petitions:1) He complains that when he caught certain people [whom he names], killing the king's game in the Forest of Mendip, when the king was in Gascony, they beat and wounded him. He requests honourable sustenance.2) He states that the forest cannot be kept as it ought because the foresters live on the country and buy their bailiwicks, whereas they should be paid by their master, the keeper under the king.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.The justices of the Forest are to be ordered to inquire into the misdeeds, and justice is to be done; and concerning the other petitions, the king will take council on them. This business has been expedited.
