The people of Nottingham complain of various exactions committed by Alexander de Gonaldeston, verderer of Sherwood Forest. They ask for a writ to the Sheriff of Nottinghamshire for them to choose another verderer in his place, and that justices and great men might be appointed to inquire into, and to hear and determine, Alexander's extorsions.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is attested by Nicholas de Cantelupe that the said Alexander is not suitable for various reasons, a writ is to be issued to choose another in his place.
