Description
Petitioners
Poor commons of the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
The petitioners complain that William Dirland has colluded with Philip Deneys to pervert justice under the guise of a commission issued to Thorp and others, to which Deneys had managed to associate himself. They ask that the commission might be repealed, and that Roger de Wolferston might be sworn before the council to tell the truth on this matter; and that a commission might be granted to justices and others of the aforesaid counties to inquire into these matters and other crimes against the king.
Nature of endorsement
The commission is to be repealed, and the said Philip and William are to be brought before the king's council to answer to any suit that anyone wishes to bring. And a proclamation is to be made in the said counties that all those who wish to complain about the said Philip and William are to come before the council; and they will be heard and justice will be done.
