The petitioners ask the council to order the Mayor, Bailiffs and collectors of customs and subsidies in Newcastle upon Tyne to allow aliens and denizens to load coal and grindstones there, paying the due customs, as these goods do not belong to the staple, and when they come to Calais they cannot find customers for them, or people to unload them from their ships.
