The commonalty request that the office of sheriff is filled by a worthy man of sense and reason such as Chastel, . . . or Wachesham or another suitable man, and complain of the evils done by sheriffs to those ill-equipped to withstand them, and more particularly they complain of the evils done by Bacunsthorp.1)
