The commons request remedy as when the king was overseas Levetot came before the justices in the eyre of Norfolk wrongfully complaining of the people of Norwich and by his procurement and power they were distrained of their beasts that were driven to the castle. They were detained there until the people fined with him in £40.

Note
The petition is dated in the guard comments to c. 1289. There is no other evidence to date this, and the guard comment presumably associates the petition with Edward I's purging of his minister on his return from the continent in 1289.
