Nature of request
Noreis requests that he is able to be served of the annuity and other maintenance which he has by agreement with Wilinton from Uplowman, or the return of the land which he gave to Wilinton for the annuity and maintenance, as he and his wife and children have nothing to live on. As part of the agreement if the annuity and maintenance was in arrears Wilinton agreed that it could be taken by distress from his manor of Uplowman.

The petition can be firmly dated to 1322 as it would seem that Noreis' annuity and maintenance were being withheld because of Wilinton's forfeiture. The inquisition made in accordance with the response to the duplicate of this petition dates to July 1322, and the keeper of Wilinton's lands was ordered to restore the annuity and maintenance on 25 July 1322 (SC 8/131/6529; CIM 1307-49, no.517; CCR 1318-23, pp.583-4).
