Mayor and commons of the town of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Nature of request
The petitioners request that it be ordained that the sessions and the assizes be held in the town of Stafford which is a royal town, and which is in the middle of the county, as they are held at Lichfield and the people of the pays around Newcastle are greatly troubled and put to great cost by the distance.

Let the justices' assizes be held in a place for the ease of the county.
