Mariners of boats arrested by order of the king for the earl of Cornwall's passage to Gascony.

Nature of request
The mariners request that they be paid as they were arrested for the earl of Cornwall's passage to Gascony and remained arrested with their full crews for a long time, and were unable to make a profit. They sued to parliament and the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer by writ and still have not been paid.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that when they have viewed the first writ that came to them, that they make execution according to the tenor of the writ.

The petition can be dated to c. 1331 as the petition makes reference to the last parliament held at Westminster which places this in the parliament held there in November/December 1330, and because of the numerous references to Smale and the preparations for the voyage to Gascony in the patent rolls for 1330-1 (CPR 1327-30, pp. 502, 512, and 529).
