The petition can be tentatively dated to 1376 by a common petition made on behalf of the merchants of Lincoln and Lincolnshire concerning the wrongful acts of merchants of Florence and Lombardy. That petition dates to the parliament in 1376 (Rot. Parl. Vol. II, pp.350b-351a (no.ci)). It is unlikely that this petition can be too dissimilar in date.
