[The petition was originally part of a longer series from which this portion was cut:] Oysel requests that certain ways be ordained as no man is able to enter the town of Kingston by horse or cart to the great damage of those wishing to come to the town.
Nature of endorsement
Certain people are to be assigned to ordain what way a suitable road is able to be made which causes little damage to the king or others, and if it to cause damage, to whom, and how whether they can be satisfied for the damage.
Note
The petition dates to 1302 as two commissions were made to enquire of the matter in later 1302 (CIM 1219-1307, no.1918). In addition, the petition forms a group of petitions from the same petitioner cut up from a roll submitted to the Summer parliament of 1302 (Cf. SC 8/36/1797, SC 8/55/2740, and SC 8/315/E177).
