- The prior and convent request remedy, and that the council will assign certain men to enquire whether they owed suit for their manor of Sookholme to the wapentake of Bassetlaw, and whether it was made by the prior or any of his predecessors. They hold the manor in pure and perpetual alms quit of all manner of services and customs as was found in Quo Warranto, but the sheriff grievously distrains them to make the suit.

- They should have a writ upon their charter to the sheriff that if neither he nor his predecessors made suit then the sheriff should surcease his demand for the suit, and that he should be quit, and sue a process by attachment.

- This petition has been dated to the early fourteenth century on the basis of its general appearance and the style of its writing. The reference to Quo Warranto (1279) hints at a date closer to 1300.
