- The prior and convent request that they be taken into the king's protection as Hastings has damaged their mill of Malton by changing the course of the river, and has menaced them and made them make indentures and bonds in certain sums of money against the law of the land. They further request that such indentures and bonds by annulled, the river be put in its ancient course, and that letters under the privy seal be sent to Hastings be summoned before the council to answer for his actions.
