Note (Additional information about the record)
- This petition was part of a long-running dispute between Sturmy and Bilkemore (see Cardigan, 'The Wardens of Savernake Forest' (1949)). The elder Sturmy died in 1338, and thus the petition probably dates to c.1337. Also, an earlier related petition (SC 8/11/541) refers to Sturmy accroaching on the Bilkemores' rights in c. 1334, and this petition refers to this event being 5 years earlier.
