Nature of request
Maudut requests that the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer be ordered to hear the account which he ought to render to the king, and that afterwards that they make allowance for this sum in the sums that the king owes to him, and pay the remainder or make an assignment. It was agreed at parliament that he should be paid the sum owing to him, but the treasurer, barons and chamberlains will not pay him.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that when they have viewed the writ that they have previously had of the order, that they make execution according to the tenure of the writ or they make allowance to him as he demands.
Note
The petition can be dated to 1331 as it seems to have been answered by a writ to the treasurer and barons issued on 17 November 1331 (CCR 1330-3, pp.374-5).
