Micol was mainprised by Hastang and the others as he was with the Earl at Boroughbridge and was imprisoned at York being delivered before the treasurer and barons for a fine of 500 marks. He requests that he be released from the arrears, and that he have restitution of what has been paid.
Nature of endorsement
Let this petition be delivered into Chancery, and let a writ be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they are advised of the cause of the making of the ransom within written. If they find that it was done because of the quarrel with the earl of Lancaster as the petition supposes, then they are to cancel it in the rolls of the Exchequer.

The petition probably dates to 1327 as it refers to the quarrel of Thomas of Lancaster with the Despensers, and is unlikely to have been presented during the lifetime of the Despensers.
