[c. 1301]
Description
Petitioners
Oliver le Moine; Thomas Disterfild (Eastfield), husband of Alice Disterfild.
Name(s)
Moine; Disterfild (Eastfield), Oliver; Thomas
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
The petitioners act for Alice the heir of William de St Remi, who died in royal service, whereas they had sued the prior of Wenlock before the council for the goods and chattels of St Remi, and the council ordered Leisset to enquire of the matter and do right to her but he has not, and they request it be done as it was ordered.
Nature of endorsement
[Largely illegible]It is ordained . . . the king will answer them as is just.
Places mentioned
Isle of Guernsey.
People mentioned
Alice [Disterfild (Eastfield)], wife of Thomas Disterfild and heir of William de St Remy
William de Seint Rem. . . (St Remi)
Prior of Wenlock
Robert de Leisset.
Note
The petition probably dates to c. 1301 as a reference in the close rolls shows the St Remi inheritance to be a live issue at that time (CCR 1296-1302, p.418). The dating of this petition in Channel Islands Petitions to 1324 is erroneous (p.34).
