Note (Additional information about the record)
- Isabel de Mortimer, daughter of Roger de Mortimer of Wigmore, was the widow of John Fitz Alan, Earl of Arundel (d.1272), and was granted custody of Oswestry Castle in 1279 and 1280, during the minority of her son, Richard. A scutage was levied in 1279 in connection with the Welsh campaign of 1277, but by the time of the next scutage, in 1285, Isabel was no longer keeper of Oswestry.
