- Mere requests that he be able to go to his law concerning the prebend of Grytton in the cathedral church of Lincoln. Mere was granted the prebend of Gretton by the pope and accepted it whereby he was admitted to the church a long time before the statute against apostolic provision, but he did not dare take physical possession for fear of denying the king's royal majesty and by the penalty ordained by the statute.
