Description

Richard Mundi; Margaret, parcener of Richard Mundi; Cecilie, parcener of Richard Mundi.
Name(s)
Mundi, Richard; Margaret; Cecilie
Addressees
Edmund [of Almain], Earl of Cornwall.
Nature of request
The petitioners request that the earl will request to the king that they be able to have their judgement according to the inquisition taken into their plea. The petitioners pleaded in the last eyre of Norfolk against Fitz William and his mother by a plea of land. The record was returned out of the eyre before the justices of Bench, and the justices took an inquisition for which the judgement is pending.
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned
Norfolk.
People mentioned
Salaman de Roucestre (Rochester), Justice
Adam Fitz William de Romelie
Joan, mother of Adam Fitz William.
Note
The petition must date to some time not too long after 1286. Salomon de Roff' was appointed with other justices to go on an eyre of Norfolk and Suffolk on 11 September 1285 and 23 January 1286, and the petition clearly refers to eyre having just taken place (CPR 1281-92, pp.194, 219).
