Nature of request
The petitioners request that a remedy be ordained that they as patrons of the church of Bridgford are not arbitrarily disinherited of it. They and their ancestors have the advowson of the church, and have presented vicars to the church. Now the escheator by an inquisition has alleged that the church is annexed and parcel of the chapel of Tickhill, and disinheriting them.
Nature of endorsement
They should have recovery at the common law.
Note
The petition dates to 1342 when an inquisition was held concerning this church and its relationship to the royal chapel, and noting the claims of various individuals, including the petitioners to it (CIM 1307-49, no.1798).
