Nature of request
Moubray requests that it be ordained that according to the inquisition returned in Chancery by the escheator for the death of Clemencia that a writ be sent to the escheator to remove his hand from the rent from his manor of Newsome which was due to Clemencia for her life, and which came into her hand because of her allegiance to Charles of Blois according to the law of the land since Brittany is now engulfed in war and no certification from there is able to be returned and it is well attested that she is dead.
Nature of endorsement
Let the inquistion diem clausit extremum be viewed in Chancery. If it is found by the inquisition that the lady de Vescy on the day that she died was served, then let it be ordered to those to whom it concerns to discharge Moubray of the rent, and the arrears from the day of her death.

The petition dates to 1343-1344 as the escheator was order not to intermeddle further with the rent on 9 July 1344 and earlier on 2 February the king had granted an allowance of this rent to Mowbray against the debts that he owed the king (CCR 1343-6, p.322; CPR 1343-5, p.195).
