Nature of request
Monboucher requests that he be reinstated in the manor of Seghill or that compensation be made to him to the value of the rent for the term of his life. The manor was granted to him by Edward II for his life for his services and losses, the manor being forfeited by Selby. The king has now re-granted the manor to Selby and the sheriff has ejected him.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the sheriff that he warn Selby that he be at the next parliament to show how he has entered the manor and why it should not be seized into the hand of the king be delivered to Monboucher to hold it according to the form of his charter, and meanwhile let the process in Chancery be searched by which Selby has entered.

The petition must date to c. 1328 for the king resolved the rival claims between Monboucher and Selby by granting the reversion of the manor to Selby on 5 November 1328, thus allowing Monboucher to enjoy his life tenure (CPR 1327-30, p.332).
