Nature of request
Monpesac requests that it is ordered to the constable of Bordeaux that she should be paid £30 for each year of the duration of the truce. She shows that Lacy whilst he was the late king's lieutenant in Gascony ordered by his letters to those who keep and pay silver of the king should pay to her and her company £30 each year for the duration of the truce between the kings of England and France, but this has not been paid.

Note
The petition is likely to date to early in the reign of Edward II, but after 1310-11 when the earl of Lincoln died without male heirs. The events referred to in the petition seem to date from the period in the late 1290s, the earl of Lincoln being made Lieutenant of Gascony in December 1295, and in May 1299 was appointed one of the commissioners to negotiate a truce with the French, and this was concluded in May 1303
