Nature of request
Metham requests remedy as she was jointly seised of a moiety of the manor of Pollington with her husband to be held to them and the heirs of their body. After her husband's death she continued in seisin until the king by Dayvill made an enquiry into which lands Thomas de Methan held when he was outlawed in Nottinghamshire, and it was found before Dayvill was seised of lands by the inquisition where she was not warned, nor party or demanded in the judgement.

Let faithful people be assigned in Chancery to enquire of the truth of the contents of the petition in the presence of the keeper in the same place and the inquisition be returned. And let justice be done in this part.

The petition dates to 1325 for the commission for the inquest to enquire of the matter was issued early in 1325 and the inquisition was held in January 1326 (CIM 1307-49, no.791). The issues were not restored until 20 February 1326. (CCR 1323-7, p.455).
