Description

Bedford to Cumberland: in the case of the officers of Guise's regiment under prosecution for beating some Jacobites, the lords justices have ordered that the lord advocate of Scotland should conduct their defence at the expense of the crown. He hopes Cumberland has arrived in Hanover. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 32, 33
