Newcastle to Cumberland (private): he has represented to the king that Cumberland should go to England for a short time to advise on the disposition and reduction of the army, which he has approved. The king has no objection to the discharge of foreign troops and foresees his German troops returning home before the end of the year. He has signed the ratification of the convention for the 4,000 Austrian cavalry. Army appointments and awards. Dated at Hanover. ff. 63-66
