Signed L B Friend, Miralai, Director of Works and Stores, Egyptian Army, 21 October 1901. Annotations: 'Separated from Egypt 24/10/2..., 24 Oct. 1901'; in pencil: 'To accompany letter of G.O.C. in E [General Officer Commanding in Egypt] to I.G.F. [Inspector General of Fortifications] D./3053/87, 24:10:01'. Stamped: Director of Stores Egyptian Army, 21 October 1901; Royal Engineers Office, Cairo, Egypt, 22 October 1901.
