(2) Drawing no L'/13: 'Sketch descriptive of the geological formation of the 2 Hills at Post Victoria near the Chishego Stream': perspective section showing the Kat River and other water courses (now in Eastern Cape province, South Africa); proposed sites for barracks and signal station. (3) Drawing no L'/10: 'Post Victoria Sketch of a part of the left stream of the Chishego shewing the positions of the several Tanks, and the site proposed for a permanent dam and tank'. Inset plan of tank. (4) Drawing no L'/12: 'Post Victoria Section of stone Dam with sections of discharging gate and culvert'. Scale: 1 inch to 1 foot. List of scantling required, with dimensions. (5) Drawing no L'/11: 'Plan of a Tank proposed to be constructed at Post Victoria'. With sections. Scale: plan 1 inch to 10 feet; sections 1 inch to 4 feet. Each sheet (Signed) J Walpole, Capt RE, Fort Beaufort, 14 December 1844. (2), (3) Copied by J O'Neill, Clerk of Works, 13 February 1845; (4, 5) copied by P Connolly, Private, Royal Sappers & Miners, 14 February 1845. Each sheet is signed by H Y Wortham, Major RE: to accompany estimate dated 14 December 1844. Dimensions of sheets: (2) 27 cm x 42 cm; (3) 42 cm x 27 cm; (4) 38 cm x 42 cm; (5) 42 cm x 54 cm.
