Gibraltar. (8) 'Sketches of Flag-Staff for Upper Signal Station': sheet bearing front and side views. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]. (9) 'Plan and Section of Signal-Staff for the Upper Signal Station shewing the proposed Lightning Conductor on Mr Snow Harris's principle'. Scale: 1 inch to 50 feet [1:600]. Inset: side view; scale: 1 inch to 4 feet [1:48]. Pencilled amendments. Signed: Lieutenant Frederick English, Royal Engineers. Dimensions: (8) 26 cm x 27 cm; (9) 28 cm x 26 cm. Item 8 originally accompanying a report and estimate by Colonel George J Harding, Commanding Royal Engineers, 20 April 1844; item 9 originally accompanying the addenda to this report.
